Next TL2014 Parent/Community Workshop – Wednesday, November 9

With increased access to technology in our elementary schools and a personal laptop computer for all students in grades 6-12, the Salisbury Township School District is eager to work with parents to understand the benefits and challenges of increased access by our students, at school and at home. We invite you to register for any or all of the FREE workshops listed below, open to all K-12 parents and community.

Wednesday, November 9 – 7:00-8:30 PM – SHS Library (Get Directions)
Mac Basics & Social Networking – This workshop will consist of two topics – basic information about the Macbook computer and social networking. Learn specifics about the Macbook to help manage home use. Also, learn how teens are sharing, communicating and learning through social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Participants will learn strategies to guide students in the safe, appropriate use of social networking sites to create and manage an online identity. (Child care will be available for this session.)

Wednesday, January 18 – 1:30-3:00 PM – SMS Library (Get Directions)
Google Apps – Do you have a Gmail account or use Google Apps? Salisbury has its own branded version of Google Apps provided to us free by Google. We call it Falcon Apps. Participants will learn how free technology tools are changing the way we communicate, collaborate and learn in the 21st century.
