Elementary Movie Trailer Projects

by Randy Ziegenfuss

The book trailer projects were submitted by Mrs. Kristy Wied, Gifted Support Teacher at Harry S. Truman Elementary School and Western Salisbury Elementary School.

The gifted students at both Harry S Truman and Western Salisbury Elementary schools participated in a reading assignment.  Each student completed a wiki assignment, read a novel, participated in a threaded discussion, and are now in the process of learning iMovie to create a book trailer for their chosen novel. Here are some examples of the book trailers the children have created.

The Cheshire Cheese Cat (Trailer by Baxter)

Freckle Juice (Trailer by Han)

Lost and Found (Trailer by Daniel)

The Music of Dolphins (Trailer by Sabrina)

Freckle Juice (Trailer by Jake)

I’m so excited to now see the end results of the books you all chose when I had a chance to join you all before you selected your titles! With your permission, I look forward to adding these book trailers to Destiny as a way to help other students find a great book to read–yet another digital road to connect readers to “thumbs up” titles!
