First Day of School – 2012

Despite starting school one week earlier than in previous years, smiles abound on the first day of school for Kindergarten, 1st grade, 6th grade and 9th grade.

Parents are encouraged to attend one of the three sessions. Bring your 6th grader and learn together!

Sapphire Community Portal Available!

The Community Portal is open and ready for middle school and high school students and parents to access! If you have used the Portal in previous years, continue to use the same login, password and PIN. There is no need to create another account.

We encourage ALL middle school and high school students and parents to establish accounts to the Sapphire Community Portal – Student Backpack. Access to the Portal allows parents and students to view real-time grades, attendance and discipline information. As the year progresses we plan to reduce paper, printing and mailing costs by posting to the Community Portal documents such as report cards, progress reports, transcripts, etc. Please take a few minutes to request access to the Community Portal. The Community Portal Letter and videos embedded below will help you complete the process.

Community Portal Letter – This letter contains important information on establishing parent and students accounts on the Community Portal.

If you have further questions, please contact Mrs. Mary Bishop at or 610-797-2062.

Summer Computer Camp Highlights

This summer, two of our Computer Technicians organized a summer computer camp for students entering 5th and 6th grade this coming school year.  Students learned how to create their own movies and songs using Apple’s iLife software on the Macbook laptop computers.  The students will take this knowledge into the new school year to create amazing projects for their classes!

This iMovie trailer was created by Bryce, and shows how you can use a combination of video, Photo Booth, and screen recording to create a great project.

Evan put together a compilation of failed stunt moves. He used iMovie to reverse and change the speed of video to add some humor and creativity to his project.

Kaitlyn Keller created a project in iMovie using themes and transitions. She also composed the background music in GarageBand.

Students also created songs and loops using GarageBand.
